Product Owner

I. TRIBE PURPOSE:

  • The Business Tribe will support the bank's digital strategy by identifying the needs of internal and external customers and by the development of products tailored to enrich customer experience throughout their lifecycle with the bank.
  • The Business Tribe will design and develop products that maximize value and ensure customer satisfaction through digital initiatives, increasing customer portfolio through converting visitations to applications within the digital platform.
  • The Business Tribe members are required to proactively research on market strategies, provide intelligence to the business and solve new and challenging problems.

II. ROLE PURPOSE:

  • The Business Analyst will assist in gathering and analyzing business issues through internal and external sources to provide insights for decision making.
  • The Business Analyst will works closely with tribe members to understand business requirements and provides specific reports and analysis.

III. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting and Documentation

  • Work closely with tribe members to understand and document business objectives and processes while suggesting modifications and improvements for better efficiencies
  • Assist senior tribe members in creating, analyzing and validating detailed functional specifications
  • Support system testing and create documentation / user manuals along with tribe members

Research and Analysis

  • Gather market trends and internal data to conduct analysis based on business problems and needs
  • Develop informative and actionable reports that highlight business trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Identify and report trends and patterns to construct forecast on business plans

 

Domain Expertise:

  • 1 -4 years of work experience in a financial institution, with a business (i.e. non-support) division
  • Experience in working on multiple projects at one time
  • Experience in writing SQL queries and using data visualization techniques and tools
  • Experience in identifying risk and potential issues through conducting gap analysis, understanding and reviewing criteria
  • Experience in monitoring and analyzing business results, competition and trends (eg SWOT analysis, market share review, etcs)

Agile/Digital Experience:

  • Basic understanding of Agile methodology and practices
  • Experience working in Agile teams to support digital transformation projects

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business management discipline

  • Digital Literacy: Understands common features of digital tools in the workplace (e.g. Trello, Jira, Confluence, Pivotal Tracker, Slack, etc.) and able to utilize them to meet objectives

  • Impactful Communication: Understands and is able to apply the fundamentals of exuding finesse in communication, and can put across ideas with the right impact with proper support
  • Influencing & Negotiation: Understands the fundamentals of effective communication and is able to put forth one’s viewpoints clearly for common stakeholder management situations
  • Development Orientation: Understands the importance of continuous learning. Requires support to learn through formal and informal learning experiences
  • Problem Solving & Ownership: Responds to identified problems by providing methods of dealing with the constraints identified; takes ownership of tasks to deliver solutions
  • Analytical Thinking: Organizes and synthesizes collected information and analyzes in a logical & systematic approach
  • Business Acumen: Understands  business goals & objective and its value to the customers
  • Financial Acumen: Understand company financial metrics and a project's direct financial impact
  • Strategic Orientation: Understands the bank strategy, but needs support to understand implications on his/her role.

      b. Functional:

  • Market assessment: Understands market to develop trends and analysis to identify measures in providing solutions against market movement
  • Product knowledge: Explains product features in relation to business needs
  • Quality orientation: Takes ownership on the quality of product based on pre-set standards and proactively seeks for flaws and suggests improvement
  • Requirement specification: Understands basic requirements from users and translates into workable functions
