Job Purpose

The Senior Expert, Application in the IT Division will play a key role in setting up, developing, and optimizing application systems for a newly established life insurance company. This role will focus on designing and implementing core insurance applications, ensuring seamless integration with distribution platforms, underwriting, claims, and policy administration systems. The Senior Expert will work closely with business teams, Techcombank, IT vendors, and third-party technology partners to ensure that digital solutions align with business needs, regulatory requirements, and customer experience expectations.

Key Accountabilities (1)

Application Development & System Implementation

- Define business and technical requirements for core insurance applications, ensuring alignment with operational and business needs.

- Lead the development and configuration of application systems supporting underwriting, new business, claims, and policy administration.

- Ensure application scalability, performance, and security in compliance with industry best practices and regulations.

Key Accountabilities (2)

Collaboration with Techcombank & Business Units

- Work closely with Techcombank’s IT team to integrate insurance applications with the bank’s ecosystem for a seamless digital experience.

- Engage with business units, including underwriting, claims, and new business, to ensure that application functionalities support business processes effectively.

- Define API and data integration requirements between the insurance company and Techcombank to enable efficient policy processing.

Third-Party Vendor & Technology Partner Management

- Collaborate with IT vendors, core insurance system providers, and insurtech partners to develop and implement application solutions.

- Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs).

- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance application functionalities.

Key Accountabilities (3)

Digital Transformation & Automation

- Drive the automation of business processes within application systems to enhance efficiency and reduce manual operations.

- Work with IT and digital teams to implement AI and machine learning solutions for underwriting, claims processing, and customer service.

- Ensure digital platforms and applications provide a seamless, user-friendly experience for customers and distribution partners.

Application Governance & Security

- Ensure application compliance with data privacy regulations, cybersecurity best practices, and internal IT governance policies.

- Define application security requirements and work with IT security teams to implement robust protection measures.

- Establish monitoring and control mechanisms to track application performance and address potential risks.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure application system efficiency, uptime, and user experience.

- Analyze application usage data to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements.

- Ensure applications continuously evolve to support business expansion and regulatory changes.

Success Profile - Qualification and Experiences

Education

- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT application development and implementation, preferably within the life insurance industry.

- Strong experience in setting up application systems for underwriting, claims, new business, and policy administration.

- Proven ability to work with IT vendors, system integrators, and third-party technology providers.

- Experience integrating core insurance applications with banking and financial services platforms is preferred.

- Track record of working in a startup or new business setup environment, building IT capabilities from the ground up.
