The list of the top 50 brands in 2020 is sorted by industry. Most of them have a history of more than 10 year which are long enough to establish their name. During the calculation process, Forbes Vietnam gathered data of large state-owned and private companies in Vietnam. This prestigious magazine did not calculate brands of monopolistic businesses, wholesale businesses, and brands which do not affect user behavior.
Calculation method: Forbes Vietnam made this list according to the evaluation method of Forbes (USA), calculating the role of brand contribution to the business performance. The most valuable brands are the brands generating high revenue in the industries in which the brand plays a leading role.
After making a preliminary list of more than 100 companies with strong brands and high awareness products, Forbes Vietnam calculated pre-tax income and interest then determined the contribution value of intangible assets. The calculation is based on the financial statements of companies.
According to: Forbes Vietnam
The income brought by the value of brand to the business is determined from the contribution value of the intangible asset after the corporate income tax has been applied and distributed according to the contribution of the brand in each industry. The overall brand value is determined by the average P / E (ratio of market price and earnings per share) of the industry in the region.
